→ Do you have the vehicle registration?
→ Do you have the title?
→ Have you verified all vehicle recalls?

If you’ve checked all the boxes above, your car is eligible to cross the border. However, your responsibilities don’t end there. After importation, you have 45 days to complete the necessary modifications and pass the required inspection. Important Notes:

Not all U.S. vehicles are eligible for import into Canada. Verify your vehicle’s eligibility before purchasing to avoid costly mistakes.
If your vehicle doesn’t meet CBSA and Transport Canada requirements, it may need to be exported or destroyed at your expense.
If the first digit of your VIN is not 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, your vehicle was not manufactured in North America and may not be eligible for import.
